Veronique Savoie, RM
My name is Veronique Savoie (She/Her) and I am one of the midwives at Community Care Midwives. I was born and raised in a francophone family in Timmins. In high school, I completed a high skills major in Health and Wellness that gave the opportunity to shadow a midwife for a day. That experience led me to fall in love with the profession! I went on to attend the French Laurentian Midwifery Education Programme, from which I graduated with honours in 2019 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery. As a student, I completed many placements in Northern Ontario, including a placement at a centre for homeless people at risk of Hepatitis C and HIV. My final year as a student was a year long placement with Community Care Midwives following Judi. I feel extremely fortunate that I can now provide prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care to families within the Durham region as a registered Midwife! In my off call time I like to spend time with friends and family, go to my cottage in the summer and snowmobile during the winter months. |
