What Do I Need to Bring to The Hospital?
Remember to bring only the essentials with you. You will need your Health Card, your Community Care Midwives
binder with your completed hospital registration forms, and clothing and toiletry articles, including:
● Diapers
● Baby wipes
● Sanitary pads (heavy flow. Not Always brand, consider Depends underwear)
● Large, comfortable underwear
● Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, shampoo, soap)
● Tissues
● Slippers or sandals
● Baby clothes (an outfit to go home in)
● Car seat (bring on day of discharge)
● Nursing bra and pads (if applicable)
● Juice/Gatorade/snacks for laboring person and support partner
It is important to note that, other than baby’s first diaper, extra diapers, wipes and sanitary pads will not be provided.
Other Optional Items Include:
● Music and headphones
● Lip balm
● Extra pillow, if desired
● Hot water bottle or microwaveable heat pack
● Diaper cream and/or petroleum jelly (Vaseline)
● Bathrobe
